Case Studies and Work
We’ve compiled some case studies and work with partners through the years. Each of these projects can be traced back to one question:
What does it take to tell a story?
It’s a give and a take dance of understanding, a whole lot of emails, phone calls, and eventually we’ll even meet over coffee. Most importantly though, its conversation. We learn from our partners, and strive to make our mission fulfill their purpose.
To us, a partnership means a first step in success. You’re not a client to us. We want to work with partners. Corporations, nonprofits, mom and pop shops and tourism enthusiasts, whose purpose is to do good in their communities and the world.
Severn sought the assistance of Cottage Creative in creating a series of videos to coincide with their 2023 website rebranding. From an About Us to reintroduce the school to a video supporting their updated Strategic Plan, the task was to effectively convey the culture of Severn and showcase the ways in which their mission is put into action.
To achieve this, we drew inspiration directly from Severn’s mission and carefully planned filming days to capture specific elements and experiences that reflect life at the school. Our efficient scheduling approach allowed us to film multiple videos on any given day, maximizing value for Severn during production.
The outcome was a collection of videos that effectively convey Severn’s culture and its evolution over time. These deliverables have been utilized for various purposes such as admissions, advertising, fundraising and community messaging.
The Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland is renowned as one of the top journalism schools in the country. Cottage Creative has been a proud partner of the college since 2018, providing advertising, fundraising, and recruiting assets to enhance engagement and opportunities for students.
We have been able to efficiently produce a variety of assets, thanks to our attention to detail and familiarity with the college’s brand. This has resulted in a strong, long-term partnership and consistent messaging and quality for the college. We look forward to continuing our work with the talented journalists at Merrill.
We look forward to more with the journalists at Merrill every day.
Adapting in 2020 wasn’t unique, it simply was a necessity. Cottage Creative approached Visit Annapolis to give back to the community that raised the Cottage. Taking an evening to film Dining Under the Stars, Cottage Creative put together a pitch video that led to a full digital and theatrical ad campaign.
Understanding we were moving with an unpredictable, and changing bar, Cottage Creative took Visit Annapolis’ directive to capture the spirit of the city to heart. Over the course of two weeks, we captured various scenes all adding up to a broad view of what the town was like during its first COVID summer.
The outcome was a collection of curated highlights showcasing Annapolis’ rich history, accessibility to water, and unique dining culture. We compiled the short videos produced for social media into a one-minute piece that was edited for theatrical release.
Doctors and dentists aren’t a dime a dozen, but there are a lot that pop up when googled. When you’re offering what seems like an intangible edge, how do you set your practice apart?
For Bay Hills Family dentistry, we provided videos for their website, and other digital marketing, offering a chance for viewers to meet the people who make the practice special. Meeting Dr Bao and Dr Gens before new patience walk in the door helps to make them feel as though its a friend they’re seeing.
With Bay Hills, Cottage Creative is building library of content to make future videos in a more cost effective manner. This library allows Bay Hills to maintain a high-quality digital presence that is adaptable to changing needs.
Stanley Black & Decker
Stanley Black & Decker is a well-respected brand known for its trustworthiness, durability, and commitment to its clients and customers.
When approached to help brand a new operations division, Cottage Creative accepted the challenge. We leveraged the strong aesthetic and recognizable colors of Stanley Black & Decker, and focused on the new division’s goals to develop a logo and reveal video for a global company event.
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with various units within Stanley Black & Decker, providing a range of services such as graphic design, video support, and everything in between.
